The Prostate Cancer Support Federation

The Prostate Cancer Support Federation (the Federation) is an organisation of UK patient-led prostate cancer support groups, which currently has about 35 member groups, representing over 5,000 patients throughout the UK. It is the only UK-wide patient-led charity that acts and speaks for prostate cancer patients and their families. Membership of the Federation is open to any patient-led support group.

The Federation is responsible for this website. We developed it because we were concerned that guidance given by the Department of Health (the 'official' PCRMP) is out of date and unbalanced, and is sometimes leading GPs to discourage their patients from taking the PSA Test. In a small but distressingly significant number of cases, this is leading to men with prostate cancer not being diagnosed until the cancer has developed beyond the curable stage.
